John Heard Him
Now Piper isn’t known for being an excessive Charismatic. One of those guys who says that he spiritualy ascended to heaven and had tea with some angels and then turns around and makes false prophecy after false prophecy and asks you to “plant a seed” in his ministry.
On the contrary Piper is known for passionately articulately his fundamentalist beliefs in male headship, biblical inerrancy and the doctrines of grace. Piper is, well, normal. That is what makes his testimony of hearing the voice of God all the more believable.
Whether you still believe God speaks to people today or not you should consider allowing this man to testify before you. If you are open I think you’ll find yourself believing his story. If that does become the case then the questions for you are “If God gave this to John will He not also give it to you? Will you pursue the same experience?”

Those are the most beautiful words I have ever heard and how wonderful that God spoke them to one man.
The best words: “Do not exalt yourself!”
That spoke to me.
I heard those words and say, “Yes, Lord. I will not exalt myself or anything on earth or in heaven but You. Please tell me again tomorrow again and again after that so I will just exalt You alone.”
